Former child soldiers have dual identities. One is the past self when they were raped or forced to kill. One is the present self in which they try to re-enter a normal life. A rehabilitation center is then the battleground for their two selves.
This portrait series, titled Twins, photographed in three rehabilitation centers of GUSCO, World Vision, and Rachelle in northern Uganda, aims to externalize the quiet yet intense battles of the two selves within former child soldiers.
