Led by Matthis Chiroux, members of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) marched to Hofstra University during an attempt to enter the final 2008 presidential debate but were confronted by the police, Hempstead, New York, United States, Oct. 15, 2008. Several IVAW members, including Chiroux, were arrested; some injured when horseback police turned back the crowd.
